Smile New Member Introduction

Hello, My name is Gary. I'm 62 years old, retired, and am working on becoming a better woodworker. I live in Southern CA, but please don't hold that against me. I'm currently taking a woodworking class in which my chosen class project is a router table cabinet. I did a bit of research before I settled on a design, but I'm always open to new ideas. I have a store-bought router table top that I've never used, and intend to build my own fence. Any ideas relating to my project would be very welcome. I'm also shopping for a combination jointer/planer, but this probably isn't the right forum for that. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Gary

It's true you can make your own fence, but take a hard look at the one below, it's hard to beat the bottom line price for it..

Supreme Router Table Fence

All that you need to do is open the box from the UPS guy and put it in place and your set to use your table.. note the extra items that come with it, like the zero clearance insertsfence part...

Just a note ***if you do buy one be sure to buy 1 or 2 of the strips ,so you can make your own zero clearance inserts inserts for the fence, you will be glad you did

greetings Gary and welcome to the forum, great place to get questions answered and make friends. Southern CA, a very long time ago (1949-1954 I lived in El Cajon I mostly remember it being hot and dusty.

BJ is right on, I would go that way next time, but for now what I have is what I have.

Just so you know, BJ is right on all the time, at least I don't know of a time he wasn't.
