Welcome to the Router Forums DC. I look forward to seeing some of your projects because I know there are some really nice woods to choose from in Hawaii.

Looks like you've met the welcoming committee DC, welcome aboard. Just so you know there's a wealth of knowledge and skill in the members here and they're willing to share their knowledge. Ask away and post pictures to help show what needs answering or simply to show your work or ask for help. You can drag your pictures into the area below where it says "Drag Files Here to Attach", wait for them to load and then post. Some of us do better with visual aids, myself included. I went to your beautiful state 3 years ago for our 30th anniversary and it was too short a trip. Hope to make it back again soon.

Glad you decided to join the fun. Attached is a 10 page pdf of the things I learned that helped accelerate my learning curve. It covers a span oif12 years or so, so don't think you have to get everything at once. Skills and tools accumulate over time. Do start with a table saw, best you can manage.

Welcome from Arizona DC!

I too, am new here. My first impressions are this seems like a really good group of folks and are really welcoming and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. My advice on using this forum is: ask questions! These folks seem more than willing to spend 30 minutes typing up a thoughtful detailed response to an honest question.

Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to answer one of your questions. <grin>
