Hi everyone,

Just saying hello and wanted to say thank you to everyone for such a nice place to gather some knowledge in a relaxed environment. I have been on the forum in the past, mostly lurking when I built my first router table. I got a lot of great tips and was on again recently looking up dust collection ideas and decided if I came back for more it is probably time to register :laugh2:

Thanks again!!

Welcome to the forum! Add your first name to your profile to clear the N/a in the side panel and so we'll know what to call you. Add your location, as well.

What sort of woodworking are you doing or planning? We like photos so show us your shop, tools, projects, etc. whenever you're ready.

Hi Duke and welcome out of the shadows. You already know that this is one of the friendliest places on the wwweb.

My wife and I build all sorts of things together. I have always enjoyed woodworking and did a lot as a kid growing up. I left the hobby for a number of years when I was in the military and starting my career. Eventually I picked it up again a few years ago to do home improvement stuff and it has sort of branched out from there for the most part.

I enjoy tinkering and building just about anything, doesn't need to be wood, I just tend do more woodworking than anything else because it is what I am most comfortable working with at this point. My wife and I do run a home based business that relies on quite a bit of woodworking, mostly milling/sign making. I joined this forum for the knowledge and community here, so out of respect I won't advertise our business outright. We do post a lot on Instagram, and the username is the same as my username on routerforums, if anyone is super interested in that aspect of what we make.

Because we make a bunch of random stuff with the business I guess I will pick my personal favorite NON business project. That was a outdoor bar I built for our patio. The bar was 95% constructed with reclaimed materials which was HUGE since we just spent quite a bit on the patio. I found an old swingset a neighbor was tossing that was PT lumber and broke that down for the framing. I used leftover decking from a job I did for a client to construct the side panels and built the cabinets faceframes and doors from pallet and crate lumber. The only materials I purchased were two corrugated steel roofing panels for the sides, a sheet of 3/4" melamine and about 8 bags of concrete. I constructed a form from the melamine and poured the concrete in place. Once it cured I paid a few buddies with beers and cigars to come over and help me flip the top.

Thanks!
