Hello All from cCc
Hello everyone. I am new to this forum, and kind of new to woodworking, once again, kind of.
Several years ago I took a cabinetmaking program as an evening / continuing education course at a local community college here in Canada when I was working as a Graphic Designer and Freelance Illustrator. The course exposed me to most wood shop utilities and lot of the common practices and techniques that are second nature to most of you who are seasoned professionals here on routerforums.
In recent months the woodworking bug bit me with the notion to rebuild/restore a vintage drafting desk that has unfortunately been decaying with age for some time. As an artist the desk still has a sentimental attachment to me and would like to have it functional again, so in the spirit of artistic integrity ,,,here I go,, DIY!!
After picking up some basic tools within budget such as a mitre saw, router, and some back saws, I went right back into woodworking with this project using fully dressed red oak. And I have some ideas for more projects upon completing the current task at hand.
So here I am, back at 'er!
I really enjoy working with wood, it is a very pleasant medium to work with.
I have already posted some frustrating experiences with my router technique or methods if you will.
I would really like to thank all of the very kinds folks already conversing in this forum who have immediately received me with an enormous amount of advice and suggestions for my inquiries. I only hope that I will be able to reciprocate if need be.
Thank you for being so receptive, so kind of you.
