Default Porter-Cable Model 1101

Hello, this is my first posting and I am looking for information regarding an old Porter-Cable router, Model 1101. The tool is circa 1950-1960. It was running well up to 2 years ago. Then the electic cable just disintegrated. The motor should still be good, but I do not know how to disassemble the unit to replace the electical wire. Does anyone know how this unit can be disassembled?

John.

Hi John

You may want to take it to the PC service center and let them check it out and install a new cord,if you have done it b/4 if one disintegrated you may have some on inside that have done the same thing.. maybe time to get a new one..

50 year old router is just that..

That must be some treasure as an antique. What will you do with it?

Thanks for the response Bob. If I can find a local service center for PC I may just do that. Regarding the age of unit, the motor runs well and the unit is very comfortable to handle. I do have other newer routers, but this one has been in the family since it was first purchased and if possible I would like to see it fixed.

Thanks for the response Jerry. Its been in the family since purchased by my father. The motor runs well and it is comfortable to handle. As far as what I will use it for, mostly small work.
