Default New to this forum

Hello all, I have a well rounded knowledge of carpentry and various other construction trades as well as basic electronics and computer repair. I just relocated from remote location and bought a small home in the city last year. I built a small 18x24 heated work shop last year and have used it as storage while I gut and renovate a 1946 peace time house. It’s has been 20 years since I have had my own work shop to play in and it seems that I have finally found time to play with some wood and other things just for the pleasure of doing it. It will be fun, relearning so many of things that I thought that I knew at one time, so I’m sure I will really enjoy reading and participating in these forums. I have two ¼”routers, one is a very old vintage of BD for free handing and a new inexpensive Ryobi that was the only router I could find at the time to work with my table setup. I wanted to buy a ½” router for my table saw bench that I bought a cast iron router leaf and fence from General to fit my new Ridgid 10 table saw. Because the router table is made of cast iron the router mounting plate and relief are about 1” thick. Finding a router with a throat that could extend and extra ¾ “was difficult and the only one I found was a ¼” Ryobi. I am still looking for a 1/2 “router that can plunge that extra ¾” and not cost me a finger and a elbow to buy.
