New to the forum. I am a curently unemployed cabinet maker-installer and woodworker. I was employed in making and installing high-end custom cabs and other custom pieces. My pasion is boxes. I love boxes. I make fine jewelry boxes in my workshop which is pretty well equiped. Most of the boxes I've given away as gifts though I have sold a few. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to make a living doing boxes and small pieces. Also enjoy turning boxes and bowels though I still have a lot of technique to learn on the lathe. I love quality tools and will buy the best I can afford.
Hi Jim and welcome to the forum. I too love boxes and enjoy turning on the lathe. We have a nice turning section here and perhaps there are some things you can pick up in there. We look forward to you sharing some pictures and advice on your boxmaking experience.
Welome! Things are bad all over, My son has a high end custom cabinet company in GA. Hope you aren't one of his. He has had to let about half his crew go in the past year. His commerical side is all that's saving him.
I been meaning to get back into turning. Always something more pressing to do.
