Default Freud 1700

I have misplaced the template guide screws for my Freud 1700 and I need the screws to finish a job.
My first option was to buy the screws at the hardware store. Wrong, the screws do not appear to be a standard metric or SAE thread. Destroying the base with the wrong screws seems like a waste. My second thought was to buy on the Internet, but it appears they have do not sell parts.

My questions are:
1. What is the thread and where do I find them?
2. Is there a Canadian company that can provide the parts in a timely fashion?

Hey Freud, great product, but make getting parts a little easier!

Hi Lionel - Welcome to the forum.
Those are M5-.8 x10. I used 20mm long to keep the dust collector attachment in place also. Got them from Home Depot. ACE Hardware has them also. Dunno if ACE has any dealers in Canada though.
Good Luck, hope this helps

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

Any building centre (HD, Rona, Home Hardware, possibly Can Tire) should have them. If not you can try Fastenal or any fastener supplier.

EGO postulo , EGO venalicium , EGO incidere.
I measured, I marked, I cut.
Latin instructions for firewood.

I took the router to the hardware section at our local Home Depot and did not find the size you quoted. A short trip to Fastenal fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.

I should also say sorry for posting this in the wrong area.

Hi Doc, your signature at the bottom of your email requests updating my profile. Is this a generic signature or should I be updating something.

P.S. what a great resourse this site is.

Lionel, you are caught up fine. We like to know what you go by and where you are from. Some times it helps to know where you are, in order to answer your questions.
You can also go to the home page, left hand column, edit your signature, and add a signature to your posts.
