Default Howdy from newbie

Hi All,
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
I am a hobbyist/DIY in San Diego with a full-time job and a couple of little ones...so finding time to practice woodworking is hard to come by. I have never owned a router before but am planning on picking one up primarily for dados and edge finishing. And then maybe more. I stumbled upon this fourm and figured it would be a good place to get myself lessoned-up.

My current project is adding a built-in to a reach-in closet. The closet is in a guest room/guitar room/office. About 1/3 of the closet will be a tall closet rod with adjustable shelf below. The other part of the closet will be a work station with drawer unit on the far end.

Gotta get it all done by the time my folks come out to visit the grandkids.

Ok, one post down. Nine more to go before I show off the Murphy bed I built last year.
take care,
Dennis

Dennis Welcome to the forum; there are many here who can assist you getting what you want to do with a router. Just a reminder; there is more that can be achieved when the router is held in the plunge mode, with the aid of template guides. Check out the material below.

Hi Dennis and welcome! I am working on a closet myself. I have included a picture of my plan from Google Sketchup. I am looking forward to seeing your Murphy Bed as it's something I want to make for the same room as the closet.
