For hundreds of years, knitters used "knitting sheaths" to make knitting easier. They fell out of favor in Victorian times, but they do work.
Wood is one of the best materials for making knitting sheaths, and I make them. While as simple as knitting, they turnout to have endless little refinements and details.
Just now, I am working on the problem of making better round tenon joints. I think the time has come to buy a wood lathe.
