Default Hello All

Hi All

I知 new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Al and I have a router, actually I have two of them. Yeah I know, hey he has a router! Although I have used wood working tools for many years (sometimes correctly and as intended by the manufacture, sometimes not) I am by no means an expert in any wood working exercise.

My latest interest is in trying to build a sturdy and usable router table. Through Google I luckily stumbled upon your informative site. I hope that with input I gain through my search I知 able to successfully build my own router table.

For the most part I will only by lurking and gathering information until I have something worthwhile to post. For now I would like to come up with and or find a design that meets most standards of a good router table. In other words I first need to learn what constitutes a good router table and how they are used.

With that I hope that I am able to gain some good insight on router use from all the expertise on this sit. So thanks all for all your experiences, ideas and expertise that you so kindly share on this sight.

Thanks Al

Al; Welcome to the forum; there are many here who can assist you getting what you want to do with a router. Most newcomers to routing spend a great deal of their time seeking that perfect router table. Just as a reminder; there is more that can be achieved when the router is held in the plunge mode, with the aid of template guides. Check out the material below.
