Default Panel Glue-ups & Inlays

Hello, I designed a table for a customer, made of black walnut, the dimensions of the top are 52"x148" x3"thick. The top of the table will have approx. 50-80 inlays in it of curly maple. What problems may I run into with gluing such a thick piece of wood? How do I overcome the problems? If the maple inlays are heavily glued in the walnut and properly sealed, will I have future problems with the inlays popping or cracking?
