Hello there sports fans and music lovers, my name is Matt Worner and I hail from the high plains of northeastern New Mexico. My main interest in woodworking is cabinetry for vintage Airstream trailers which I will be restoring as time and money allow.

My shop will be in a 55 x 116 foot round top barn. Plan is to have a cabinet shop down the back of the barn that will be about 25 x 50 including a finishing room. Everything in an Airstream goes in through the door at the factory so if it works for them...

All my trailers will be worked over in a complete shell off restoration. The shells will be lifted off down the back of the barn where there is enough room to have the trailer next to the cabinet shop, the frames and running gear will be restored up in the front by the doors (I don't want the metal working sparks near the wood shop) and the chassis will be returned to the shell down by the furniture/cabinet shop where the new interiors can be just walked out one door (finish room) and into the other (trailer). Forward of the woodshop will be the upholstery shop where my wife can make up the cushions and curtains and things.

Router wise I have about eight different ones, from the Jessem/Milwaukee dedicated to the Jessem table, to a P-C 310 with Micro Fence three axis mill. The M-F system will fit most of the others as well. A DW 625 is pretty much dedicated to the WoodRat. I plan to get a Sommerfeld table which will get the Triton TRA001 as a dedicated driver. I'd also like to get or build a horizontal table and set up one of the fixed base routers I've accumulated over the years to do raised panels. I've got an idea to make hollow backed raised panel doors to cut down the weight of the cabinetry and still have the solid wood look. The older Airsreams were a lot skinnier than the mamoos they produce today. Have to see if that works...

If I ever get the place finished and presentable I'll get some photos up someday.

You hail from a very beautiful part of the country. I assume you are not too far from the Enchanted Circle. Simply beautiful.

Good luck with your endeavor. Sounds like a great business you are gearing up for.

Keep us posted on your progress. Photos are always welcome!
