Default Yes, I am a wood worker! personal vindication!

It has been about 7 years since I made anything, and I was feeling like a fraud to myself. I felt guilty of having all the wood-working tools and not using them; as if I were a wanna-be woodworker instead of a real wood-worker. My husband assembled the panel saw (lucky me) that I bought 2 years ago, just before we were married. Wham! I love it! I went right to the drawing board (computer with CAD) and redesigned a storage wall that I have had in mind for the last 4 years.

Within a week of leisure, with the help of Jack, We have the main carcass of the storage wall in place. Really, the construction process has been flawless, and I am so delighted! It is not finished yet, but I am very happy with the process and progress. Oh, sure there were some mistakes, and once again, I learned a lot, and implemented innovation from the previous projects. There are still drawers to make, a movable backing for the top portion, and shelving to install. I am totally stoked.

This is the first cabinet I have made with store bought wood that was not melamine. I felt confident enough that I spent money for cabinet grade plywood. I am going to splurge and purchase 9-ply half inch for the drawers too! I am even considering using the dove-tail jig I received without a manual. I have plenty of projects in my mind, and I think the panel saw will really make a difference. I was never really comfortable with the table saw with sheet goods, and now I do not have to use it. Ho-ray! Where can I post photos?

Welcome to the forums.

I am jealous of your panel saw. Wanted one of those since I first saw one in use at a Home Depot.

You can post pics if you select Go Advanced while writing a message. A bit further down the screen from the message box will be a manage attachments box to click on. That works for uploading pics

Hi Candace and welcome! You can post pictures right in your post and I believe you can send a message to Mark the Administrator to ask for a gallery where you can post pictures till your heart's content!
Yes I would love to see pictures of your cabinets AND your panel saw. To me a panel saw is the ultimate tool. But alas no room in my shop for one. If I could only make one that rolled up with the garage door I'd be set!
