Default New Member - In need of advice on new machine

Hi
I'm Jim from rural Lincolnshire, England. I currently own a Freud Ft3000 1/2" router that I'm quite happy with but I need a more managable 1/4" model to use with door hinge jigs.

I'm considering the Trend T4EK for which I have seen a good review but someone has suggested that they aren't very good as they don't centre correctly when used with a guide bush. Does anybody have any experience of using one of these with a jig that requires a guide bush?

The Trend model caught my eye as it is not too heavy, comes with with a 16mm guide bush, which is what my jig calls for, and additional bushes are readily available in sizes from 12mm to 33mm.

Thinking of the bushes does anyone have experience of using the plastic bushes available in sets of 12 from Trend?

Welcome to the forum Jim, I'm not familiar with any of the items you mention, I've been away from England too long. I spent close to two years stationed at RAF Cranwell and lived off camp with my wife and new son in the nearby village of Fulbeck.
