Default Howdy

My name is Jim and I've been a professional woodworking for over 30 years, 20 of those spent in commercial cabinetmaking and furniture making shops here in Cincinnati.

For the past 10 years, I've been editing (and have written a few) woodworking books for Popular Woodworking books. We're part of F+W Media in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Popular Woodworking Magazine's office and woodworking shop is also in our building.)

I've already posted some replies and look forward to helping those of you I can so you can enjoy your woodworking and not get to frustrated in the process.

I'm not bragging, believe me, but I've had a lot of experience with all the woodworking power tools, large and small and have used lots of hand tools, so those of you who have questions, I'll do my best to guide you in the right direction.

In my "spare" time, I build electric solid body and acoustic archtop guitars.

And, since I have so much spare time (ha!), I am learning how to weld. Hey, you can never have too many skills, right? At least that's what I've been telling my wonderfully patient wife.

Keep makin' sawdust.
