Default New to forum

I usually don't do any introductions when I sign up on new forums but the friendly reminders here were just to hard to resist. As you can see I signed up in 09 but am just now getting back to the site.

I just got back into wood working after a couple of decades of abstinence. Lost direction in life somewhat, just too busy with career to do what I really loved to do. So, got back into it a year ago or so. Had a new garage built out back and have been gathering tools to once again do what I loved to do before I'm too old!!

As far as routers, I have a few for various functions. The main one I use is a table mounted Porter Cable (3 1/4hp ?). It is mounted on the table saw extension area. Couldn't find a flat manufactured table so I modified one with some bracing to make and keep it flat. I have a digital lift, a little pricey but worth it considering how much I use it and my 58 year old back isn't what it used to be! Love the set up. No back breaking fumbling underneath to adjust height, etc. The digital indicator is very accurate after checking it out myself so I trust it. Very fast and accurate.

I have several smaller routers I use for various things including building a guitar here and there. Now I am just beginning to research cnc routers. I have a lot of experience with metal working cnc machines from mills to wire edm's and routers for vinyl fence fabrication production but nothing on the wood side. So, another journey begins here. It appears there is a fair amount posted on cnc routers here, not to mention everything else, so I know I'll be spending a fair amount of my sufing time here.
