Default Scroll Saw Search

I recently did some 'jig-sawing' with a shopsmith attachment and it worked out fairly will on the simple project ... however, two different tools had to be used to install the blades. The Shopsmith Jig Saw works similarly to a scroll saw but moves at a much slower speed. It can cut a 2/4 however since it can handle larger blades.

Since this attachment is not supported any more by Shopsmith, I have decided to sell it and move up to a scroll saw. I'd buy a Shopsmith but they're too expensive when I can buy a Delta or Dewalt for 1/2 to 2/3rds the price.

Any suggestions on the best in a medium price range. Don't want to get something too cheap (they never work out) or waste my $ either. Plan to use it occasionally on home projects.

I have a DeWalt DW788 and I love it. Delta makes the same saw and it comes with a light. They are both $599, go for the Delta and get the light for free.

The Delta also comes with a stand, the DeWalt does not.

We have the DW788 too, it's a GREAT scroll saw! Highly recommended.
