Default hello introduction to forum

hey new to this forum thing. i have no woodworking education and have learned from watching and trying. I find this has limited by abilities. i find myself in a spot i need help. basis basic eguipment and I relize it is time to drop some money. using an old cfaftsman router table and cfartsman router. has worked okay for prior tasks.

I want to use a router table 1 1/4 guide bushing (MLSC fast joinery system). realizing it will noit fit in the huge hole on the craftsman table and plastic inserts still wrong size and probally not adequate anyway. So i have the system and no way to use it.

I have looked at Rockler base plates/tables and they spec a 1 3/16 opening. Then a found an adptor plate to fit on present table from peachtree. Was looking at a used bosch 1171 with router but 1,2, and 3 inch options.

I have now read to much and way over reseached this thing. Very fustratiing to have the new toy, I mean tool and can not make it work or he a plan.

HI - Welcome to the forum
Guess I'm having trouble finding a question in there, you said you found a Peachtree plate to fit your table. As long as you can get an insert that will take a 1-3/16" guide bushing you should be all set. Router brand is irrelevant but it MUST be centered in the plate. I haven't got that MLCS system but I think it is designed to be used on the table.
Hope this helps

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

HI Walter

It sounds like you are using one of the older Carftsman router tables if so
you need to start from sq.1..
Send off for the plate below
Router Table Plate
see the link below ( PDF ) it will show you how to mount the router to the plate .
http://manuals.harborfreight.com/man...4999/94331.pdf

mount your router to the plate on some 3/4" plywood, clamp it to some saw horses or a workmate work bench..
Once you have your router mounted to the plate then install the brass guides you got with the fast joinery system..

Now you are set to try it out..

Good Luck
