Default Hey RouterForum

Just wanted to take a moment to say Hi. Just joined this morning. Actually was trying to research a thread about a homebrewed MortisePal. I am always looking to learn something new, and have a few tricks of my own that may get shared with time. We'll see.

You mean my real name? Or my user name?
So when I meet another Mark, I always say "Mark Mark" as we shake hands, then say that it is a hair-lipped dog. Some get the joke faster then others.

Default new project starts this week

I have a new project that I am starting this week to break in my new bigger shop space. Am going to build my first entry door. This is to replace the construction door (a sheet of 3/4 ply that was built up around the edges and has two vertical ribs to keep it flat) that we have lived with for just over 1 1/2 years / ever since we moved into the new house that I built for my wife and I to retire in.

Being as the doorway is around 42" wide and 81 1/2" tall, anything that would be going into be a door would have to be custom built anyways. Rather then pay some other woodworker around $3K to build and install it, I would rather go ahead and build it myself. Besides, I always enjoy a decent challenge, see it as a chance to expand my skills set and what I can offer future clients. The new shop space is actually my new commercial woodworking shop. I am trying to hang up my tool belt, plan on offering custom cabinets and furniture. An entry door? Just another piece of custom woodworking, but with tighter tolerances.

I really like the hockey emoticon below this field. We are big hockey fans in our house, and we don't care to much for the Canucks either. GO BRUINS!!!
