Default New but Old

Well, don't exactly know where to start, the beginning was in 1956 and hit my thumb the first time as I remember bout 1960 or so. Picked up one of Dad's chisels round 61 or so and got my first stitches, that thing was sharp! Worked on various prize winning fine furniture pieces for the next couple of years and kind of figured out that measuring was a bit on the important side of woodworking as were nails smaller than Popsicle sticks. Well Dad kept me interested and as an artist and teacher he provided the home with many works of art. Dad passed in August of 09 and just this summer I was able to head home and retrieve his shop full of tools. I now have a project of building a new workshop in back to make room for them and space to setup and work. Will be checking in from time to time and when I start the shop I'll provide photos. Should be within the next couple of months.

Howdy, Bob. Loved your first post. I think many of us can relate to what you describe. I miss my dad so much, but always remember him fondly while using tools he used before me.

Looking forward to seeing your photos in the future.

Best regards,
Burke
