Hello Mike,

Welcome to The Router Forums!

Designing storage systems for just about anything that needs to be stored is something I have enjoyed doing since my mid teens. To create the best 'design' for you, lots of different things need to be considered to achieve maximum benefit from whatever it is that the investment in materials turns out to be.

Most of the stuff I have designed wasn't built by me. This last year I have had a chance to jump in and build it myself for the first time in nearly 20 years. I'm the kind of shelf building nut that thinks garage walls are far better off being plywood than they are drywall...

Have you thought about how 'finished' you need it to look, what kinds of materials you want to build it out of, or how you can secure fixtures created to the walls/overhead?
