Talking Just Hello good to be here

My name is john and moniker is johtomswift. The reason for that particular one is derived from what started me on one of my first loves, sci-fi.. this was a kid named tom swift, anyway that has absolutely nothing to do with wood working so I'll get back on topic. I got interested in woodworking from some friends I worked with. Then, predictably, I got the tool bug and there went my extra $$$ . Later on I went back to school and took woodworking then got hooked on wood as an art form.. That's where I'm at right now. Mainly turning or getting wood to do things it doesnt naturally want to do. Really I'm not too good at it, but I love to look at it. Thats it in a nut shell, if I can look at a piece and get a smile out of the deal I'm happy and it really doesnt take too much to get me grinning. Besides that Im a bluegrass fan, have a small shop in a smaller trailer and starting to make canes because arthritis is kicking my butt. Thats it y'all

Hi and welcome,

I too enjoyed Tom Swift. Ex took my collection to the dump. Have tried a couple of times since to buy some but no luck for a affordable price. Looking forward to pics of your shop and canes.

Under construction, always.
