Default Hello! And dovetail template questions

I'm Lee Carlson (Papa Lee to our youngest grandson) and have been working with wood off and on for 40+ years. After a while away, I"m getting back into it with a bit more determination.

Presently, our oldest son and I are working on a pair of bathroom vanities. I'd like to dovetail the drawers. I picked up a Leigh D4 off craiglist, but don't have the bits for it.

I also have an old Craftsman 315.25710. The manual provides a part number for the router bit, but no other details. Of course that part is not available with no substitution or replacement part number.

Does anyone know the specs for the bit? I expect it needs to be 1/2" diameter. Does the angle matter? Will a 14 deg work?

Thanks in advance for any information.

The angle is critical!
All of these jigs state what angle dovetail bit they supply and ALL of the sttinggs are based on that geometry. Change the bit from 7 to 14 degrees and YOU have to redetermine the bit height, cut depth etc and reset all the stops. With the Legh Jig you also have the template guides to attach to the router. Any local woodcraft or Rockler or similar will have bits for the D4.

G'Day "Papa Lee",
You could have a look on the Leigh website to double check the online manual & setup info.

Thanks for the replies.

For my immediate needs I used a 14% 1/2" bit win the old Craftsman. I'm in the process of researching the options for the Leigh.
