Default Another Newbie

I joined to read a particular thread and to look at the photos and attachments, and found a site to learn a lot more. Thanks for letting me join.

I am retired and I mostly do woodturning. Mainly because of several old age disabilities and the lathe is one tool I have convinced the family that it is safe enough for me. I don't use a router, but I do use a Foredom with router bits to adorn some of my woodturnings. I hope that is close enough to using a router.

Thanks again for having me.

Marvin, although we concentrate heavily on routers we promote all types of woodworking. Bernie is a member of the Moderation Team and excells at turning; he has a great deal of turning knowledge to share. I hope you enjoy the forums as much as I do. Welcome!

Welcome aboard. I'm 71 and don't listen to anyone telling me what tools they consider 'safe' for me to use, or not. I have enought sense on my own to keep my fingers and such away from the whirly parts. Personally I consider a router, especially in a table, as safe, or safer, then a lathe anyday. Loads of fun to use too.
