Hi everyone,
I am new member here. I recently bought a black and decker kw900eka router primarily to build speaker boxes. I was reading through the Internet and watching YouTube videos to learn using the machine. I realised most of the times a router table is used.

I have couple of newbie questions here.
1. Can I use my router with a router table? If yes, shall I have to change power switch assembly of the router to adapt to an external power switch.
2. Since I am absolute newbie and building a DIY roter table may be difficult for me. In such a case, Which is the simple and cost effective router table do you suggest?

Hoping to learn from the forum...

Regards,
Prashanth

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for joining us, Prashanth.

Your router should be able to be used in router table. You may need to "lock" the on/off switch with a cable tie and use an external switch attached to the table. I would not change the switch.

The simplest router table is a sheet of 3/4" ply with the router screwed to the bottom.

This link will give you some ideas:

And this link will help you to mount the router to the table:
