Default Hi from the UK

HI all, I am from Leicester in the UK, I am a recently retired guy and have just started a new hobby involving timber.
I have been re-claiming and re-selling large amounts of various sizes in my spare time for a few years now but now I have lots of spare time I have got into making garden furniture from some of it.
My latest acquisition is a used wolfcraft router table with router attached hence my interest in this forum.
Looking forward to receiving tips about routers on here.
Regards.
Rod.

Hey, Rod; welcome!
Do you religiously run a metal detector over every piece of wood you process? Frankly, I'd be scared sh****ss to use a router on salvaged wood. :0
I recently destroyed a 10'' carbide blade on my TS, ripping a piece of beautiful old D. Fir 4x4 that the owner swore up and down had no metal in it... (like a fool I believed her.)

No, I don't even posses a metal detector, I dismantle all the timber I get(packing cases mostly) I know where all the nails /screws are and remove them, if any do break off I mark the area with a red marker pen

My circular saw and sliding mitre saw have blades that cuts though metal as well as wood.

Google 'Evolution saw' to see one.
