Default My Introduction as a Newbee

I am retired at 65 with a bad back. I have had 4 back operations so no more "work" for me. I do have a slight problem in that there is not enough month at the end of the money! So, I will have to find a way to earn some extra money somehow. I like woodworking and would like to be able to use this to generate some extra money. I have read where some have been successful, so maybe there is a chance I can to this. I just purchased a new variable speed mini lathe to play with and had thought of "PEN MAKING," but after reading some of the posts I am not sure. It looks like a variety of different things might be a better approach. Or maybe I should just stick with trying to create unique little computer program to sell Anyway, I will enjoy reading this forum because I would like to learn more about wood turning and just have fun.

I make pens for people as custom orders that they have a special love as the first christmas tree or hockey stick or an antique chair that you broke as a child and your parents put away to repair later and never did . these usually end up in making up to 20 plus pens my last order now stands at 42 and more pending as an added touch you can get lazer engraving done .I usually ask for the left overs Andy
