Default G'day from the Top End of Australia

G'day All

Just to introduce myself to you all.
My name is Peter and I'm 63.
Recently retired from public service and looking at what to do with myself with my free time.
There's is nothing interesting in tv to watch during the day so I've decided to get off my backside and get into the shed and start doing all the little jobs that I've been putting off for years.
I wanted to make some picture frames using my dremel router and wondered how to do it and so here I am looking for tips on how to use my router.

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter - welcome to the forum!

Well, plenty of ways to make picture frames, so was curious about your mentioning doing it w/ a Dremel too? What model do you own & what kind of frames are you wanting to make? May help others to give you some advice - Dave

Welcome to the forum peter from Perth, WA. The Dremel, whilst a very hany tool, really isn't the tools for making picture frames. Whilst a table saw is normal for cutting the mitres, I usually make them on the router tabe using a 45 bit however even if the dremel was mounted under a table it wouldn't have sufficient power. This shot shows how I rout mitres on the router table. It's also easy to make a jig for doing this with the router hand held, but again the Dremel, apart from not being able to get suitable bits because of the small collet size, lacks the power.
