Default 105 House Siding

Hey everybody these is my first post. My house was built in the early 90s and has siding in the eves made out of hardboard. I like the look of the siding but as we all know with time and moisture hardboard begins to fall apart. Only a few 12' sections have gone bad so i'm not ready to replace it all. I cant replace it with the standard 105 siding this is thinner and slightly narrower. So i need to make siding out of redwood with the same profile. Any help

Have you considered using cedar?
Less money the redwood ( at least in my area ) and holds up very well.

Hi,Tip; welcome!
Amen to Wayne's point. There are a lot of choices when it comes to Cedar t&g! Where are you located? Certainly here in the Pacific Northwest, the material is reasonably priced, especially if you buy it green. KD and clear will cost you more. Buy it green, and stack it stickered in your basement or garage for the Winter; it'll be airdried and perfect by the Spring (a few small knots gives it character) ....
Actually, it's been so dry for the last couple of months that green Cedar material might even be ok to use right now.
Up here in the B.C. Lower Mainland, these are the go-to guys:

I'm not sure what 105 siding looks like do you have a picture of what you would like to reproduce?

Why use Cedar? The hardboard will accelerate in it's deterioration and within 12~24 months you will have to replace it all. Use Hardiplank, it has the same profile as your existing siding and if you are real careful you can replace the individual planks or one side of the house at a time. It also comes in 5/4 board for the vertical edges and wide flat for the rot behind the gutters. Same problem, this was my North Carolina solution. Concrete stops rot and woodpeckers.
