Default Heyo.

Hey guys.

My name is Max, and I'm a diy addict .

I live in Arizona, and my longest running hobby has been guitars, including playing and working on them. I've been planning for quite some time to start building, and I'm finally setting about it. Found this place via Harry Sinclaire's router ski how-to thread, as I've glued up my first blank and I now need to route it flat (Since I have no intentions on owning a 20"+ jointer lol). This place seemed like a wealth of information, so I figured I'd hang around a bit and try to pick up some knowledge. I also do minor furniture repair, and am about to set about restoring a nice ethan allan expanding table which sat outside for about 2 years. My only router as of current is a Crafstman professional model I picked up my old boss' brother, back when I worked at a guitar shop.

As far as me, I'm a young guy (early 20s) fresh out of college. I'm a software developer by trade, but I've done everything from managing a cafeteria to grunt landscaping to basic accounting. I've also started to get into gardening, and will (hopefully, if the lady will allow) soon be raising either tillapia, rabbits, or quail (or a combination of the 3) in my yard.

Anyways, thanks for putting together all this wonderful information, and I hope to be at least some use to someone around here as soon as possible.

Max, when you post questions you help generate ideas. Many times while trying to explain the "why" of something new jigs are born. The forums only work when everyone participates. Welcome.
