Default Hello from Minnesota

Hello All,

Glad to be here. It looks like a great site. It is highly recommended and regarded by some folks over at WTO - the live chat section.

I am relatively new to woodworking. I am in the process of setting up my shop again for the second time. I tried to get into wood working about 5 years ago. The combination of two growing boys and having equipment that was very inaccurate caused me to get away from the hobby pretty quickly.

Well, the kids are a little older and I am very excited to try again. I have made some great shop improvements, added some new equipment and am in the process of getting a good table saw. Really excited to move steadily down the skill curve.

Thanks in advance for tolerating all the questions from a newbie. I will try to use the search function, but will have questions for sure.

I love the router and want to learn how to fully utilize all of its capabilities. One goal I have is to learn how to flatten my work bench. It is 3" thick (laminated Maple), 3 feet wide by 10 feet long. Don't want to take it on until I am more confident with the router and my general wood working skills.

Looking forward to getting to know the members here.

Michael, start by reading the "Sticky" threads at the top of each section of the forums, they are loaded with great information and will save you asking a lot of questions.
