I just joined the group. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on an issue. I need to flatten a chopping block (end grain) and I was thinking about using my router. One thought I had was to put it on top of a piece of acrylic large enough to run on two pieces of wood on either side of the chopping block. Is acrylic the right stuff to use and how thick would you recommend if it has to be a couple feet wide so there is no give. I have a trim router, a Porter Cable and a Festool 1400 to do the job. What router bit would you suggest. If someone has a better idea, other than to start over and make sure I glued it up correctly, I'm all ears! Thanks!
