Smile New owner of a router crafter, and new to this forum

Hi all. I have just become the proud owner of a router crafter ( a bit scarce in Australia), and came across this forum while researching it. I have found quite a lot of useful info already, and hope to find more now that I can access the pictures you guys have.

I have a pretty broad interest in all things to do with wood and metalcraft, especially safe working practices. Spent most of my working life in military aircraft avionics and teaching electronics engineering, communications and telecommunications. I have also written a few trade practices manuals for Australian apprentices, and so have a continuing interest in technical authoring. If I can be of assistance to anyone, please ask - I have quite a few resources at my disposal.

All the best from DownUnder, Peter:

Hi James, I think I know you already as a result of reading a thread on Imperial vs Metric last night. It went on for ages, and I didn't get to the end, but it did give me a little insight into the vast accumulated knowledge of members of this forum. I hope to try out my new toy today. Regards, Peter.

Hi Jeff. A router crafter consists of a router mounted on a movable platform, where the work piece is controlled by a system of cables and repeatable indexing. It allows you to create very cool objects such as spindles with spiral turnings. I live in Nowra, NSW.
Regards, Peter.
