Cool Entry door making

Hi, my name is Tomislav and I am from Croatia. I plan to make some standard entry door for my house 200 cm high and 100 cm width from the wood 4,40 cm or 1-3/4"/ thick. The door should have 3 rails and 2 stiles /12cm width or 4-3/4"/ and raised panels. I was wondering how deep should my mortise be, do I have to make a through mortise and tenon joint?

Tomislav seeing no one else has said it then I will, go as deep as you can, old style doors were a 'through tenon' (using the word 'through' here means that the mortise went all the way through the door style and the tenon did as well) many older doors would have the tenon wedged as well, that is some cuts were put into the end of the tenon and a wedge has hammered in from the outside and that made the joint very strong, big heavy doors need to be as strong as they can be so go as deep as you can and use the best exterior glue you can buy. Hi Tomislav I recently built a 6 raised panel door for my shop. I don't know how to post pictures here, so I will start a new thread and maybe that will help. Welcome to the forum.
