Default Hello

Hi everyone,

Just getting started on my own as I begin to remodel my house. I've grown up with woodworking in my dad and grandfather's shop. Made plenty of things with their things, just now getting my own router and set up.

Looking forward to learning from everyone!

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you had a good up bringing.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I've learned so much already.

It was a great up brining! Lots of hard work, but wouldn't change it for the world. Looking back, my best summer in school was working for grandpa at age 16 (family farm and they lived within walking distance). started work @ 4am and finished at noon. Slept till 4pm until dad came home then worked with him till dark thirty! Wish now I appreciated it then as much as I do now!

Dad pieced together a woodshop with my grandpa and eventually upgraded things to a point where he is now making very nice pieces. I learned a lot from watching him , he still helps me talk things through. Grandpa turned 97 in Sept. (still lives with my folks) and it was just this last summer that he wasn't working and mowing the yard!!! I hope I am 1/2 the men they are. Wonderful examples!!

Thanks again and I look forward to learning and sharing. . .
