Default Katie Jig Double Dovetail?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and have taken a bit to look around. The first thing I noticed is that there is a great deal of knowledge here and I hope to use some of it!!

My first question: I have a Katie Jig and I like it. I'm wondering if there is a way of making Double Dovetails with it?

My second question is: I've been looking at the Incra Universal Precision Positioning Jig (Rockler). I understand that I'd have to purchase the Jig and than add the fence etc. Has anyone used it and do you feel that it's a good jig for a beginner to start doing Double Tails (and corner post)?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Rich

I've got the Incra system, and could do the double dovetail--but haven't tried it yet. That said, the DD is through tails and pins cut with the openings filled with contrasting wood which is in turn cut with smaller dovetail bits. I think it could be done without the Incra system, but the repeatable positioning that is capable with the Incra would make infinitely less maddening!!

By the way--I think it could be done by someone, I doubt very highly that it would ever be me!!

Thanks James. It looks very interesting. My Father-in-law has a Joint Tech set up. He rarely uses it and recommends that I try it out. In his words "when I die it will be yours anyway". My plan is to work a bit with his Joint tech and see how I like that. The INCRA and Joint Tech look somewhat alike and seem to use the same principals. Again, thanks for the INCRA Manual
