Default New from Florida Gulf Coast

Hi
I'm new to the forum. I'm also new to using router for anything but the most basic edge trimming. My name is Sue. I'm a nurse and looking forward to full retirement in a few years.

I'm rehabbing an old place and also trying to learn how to recreate some antique style, Victorian furniture out of walnut. I will happily use modern technology and tools to do this. Figuring out how to make "racetrack" molding is a big factor in me joining here.

I'm hoping to learn how to make jigs to help me. I don't have a huge amount of hand strength on my left so I'm a little afraid of freehand technique. I have visions of the router attacking. For now, I'm keeping my eyes open and my mouth closed and learn what the tools can do. And learn how to do it safely - I am attached to my fingers.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the Forum Sue lots of nice people here. You have found a nice place to learn about wood working in general. I also live in Florida but on the Georgia / Florida line way up North.
Have Fun

Susan, Welcome to the Router Forums! There have been a lot of ladies that have recently joined and we're certainly glad to have you among the membership! I do not claim to know much about mouldings and the like, but I am wondering if what you're looking for is a "fluting jig" for router use?
