Default Brand Spankin' New

Hello to this forum!

Have stumbled across this once or twice over the last couple of years and today, freshly retired, thought it was about time to offically join! I'm here in the Fraser Valley, located just outside of Vancouver BC Canada and have been preparing for my adventure in woodworking/routing for the last 10 years. Yes, for 10 years I've been buying the required tools here & there so as to be ready to dive in when I finally retired and had time. That time has come. So, it's nice to be part of a forum where so many friendly people are around, sharing, helping, and kidding each other. Feels like a nice safe place. A woodworking pal told me at my job 10 years ago, buy one bigger tool each year. Store it if you don't have room, but buy one! Otherwise when you go to start when you retire, you'll find the cost perhaps too high and not get into this wonderful hobby. Took his advice and wish he'd given it to me 5 years earlier! So, glad to be aboard, looking forward to meeting people & discussing wood stuff. Cost of hardwood in my area is crazy so a few years ago I bought a portable sawmill. Fell in love with sawmilling. (okay, I explained it in a way to my wife that I'd be saving us money if I bought the mill

Hi Scott. That mill will save you a fortune over time.

Hi, thx Mike. The theory is it should but that mill's price could have bought a truckload of hardwood. I guess time will tell. But milling is a lot of fun.

Hey Daninvan, compared to some of these lads (as in Australia) we're neighbours! If your ever down in the Vancouver area, c'mon out and see the mill! I'm here in Maple Ridge.
