Default Hello

Hi,

Just thought I'd post an introduction. If nothing else it will serve to use up one of the ten posts I need to make to post photos etc. to the board.

I'm fairly new to routing although I've had routing equipment some time. I made some school boy errors previously and gave up. Now I know a bit more and I'm having more success I'm back for good.

I'm interested in making a better halving joint jig (made a crude version) for the router if anyone has done this before I'd be happy to be pointed in the right direction.

Regards

Jon

Welcome to the forum Jon. I'm not sure what you mean by "halving joint". Can you elaborate? The only thing that comes to mind when you say that is a half lap joint.

You can post pictures anytime as long as they are in your hard drive and not stored on a site like Photobucket. To do it on this post you would click on Go Advanced and browse through your files to find the correct photo(s) and then upload.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will start a thread in an appropriate place and include photos. I probably do mean a half lap joint. It is where a section of half the wood thickness is removed from two pieces of wood and they are then placed in a cross at 90 degrees to each other. A photo describes this much better. Regards. Jon.
