Default Hello from Oklahoma

I've been reading this forum like crazy the last couple of weeks. Like many here I did a bunch of shop classes in school, some better than others but it has been several years. My grandpa was a pastor and a carpenter and I wish I had spent more time learning from him instead of just grabbing tools and carrying lumber but I didn't so here I am, pretty clueless about routers. I have a bosch 1617EVSPK and just got the bosch 1171 table. I will eventually build a larger table but for now, this one will hopefully fill most of my needs.
I'm in the middle of a reef aquarium stand and already have a few questions. I want the sides to look solid but want them to swing open like doors so I need to basically make them large doors. I'm really wondering the best(easiest) joint to use to connect the stiles to the rails and the bits required to do it. Don't think I'm going with a raised panel, planning on using a basic rabbet cutout for the flat panels.
Thanks in advance for helping me with my questions.

Hi, Achiro; welcome.

You didn't mention the size tank you want to mount on it. Have you considered a welded metal internal frame, with the wood panels mounted to it?
Aquarium Sizes and Weights Chart
A reef tank is going to be in excess of 600 lbs, filled. That's the equivalent of three refrigerators stacked on your stand.

Dan, it is a 120 gallon that is 4'x2'. I have gone back and forth and ended up doing a basic 2x4 frame for this tank, mainly to speed things up but also because I'm not really set up to weld right now. The next one I build will be square tubing for sure and I still wake up some days and think I should just go back and start over on this one.
