Hi!
I am definitely a 'newbie' to routing. I just purchased a new Porter-Cable 890 set (both fixed and a plunge). The DVD's instructioins I've seen go too fast! They seem to assume that you are very competent in routing. = H E L P !
ie; "use your new router to build a router table"!!! I'm still trying to figure all the features of my router!! LOL!

ANY advice on a DVD that starts one from square one'??
I've wanted a router for some yeras now... FINALLY got it! Now how the heck do I get started??

MANY thanks!!!
Chris

HI Chris and welcome to Router Forums. Download free for Windows Media Player or Ipod
Podcast # 6 and 13, all of them are great but those are for the router specifically. You have to scroll down and hit the Previous Entries button.

Check out the Router Workshop on the Woodworkingchannel.com for some great router table action. The Series One DVD is great from Oak Park:

Welcome Chris. In addition to your DVD search, you may want to consider a book I recently read by Bill Hylton called Woodworking with the Router, ISBN: 0-7621-0800-2. I've never been one to spend much time with instructions or the like but I thought the book was great. It also provides discussion on router tables Verticle & horizontal as well as plans for them and many jigs.

The best book I have found is the "Projects and Jigs" book by Bob and Rick Rosendahl. This book covers the basics and shows how to build most of the jigs used on "The Router Workshop" over the years. (On sale now for $14.95 from Oak Park) Bill Hylton's books are also excellent. (Around $20)
The DVD's of seasons 1,4,5 & 6 are available now from Oak Park and you can see the projects and even purchase E-plans for them on the web site.
