Digital Picture Frame Stand

I have a digital picture frame that comes with a non-adjustable stand, or can be mounted to the wall. I want to set it on a table, but the stand is angled completely wrong for me. I'd like to make my own adjustable stand by using the mounting slots on the back of the frame. So I'd basically "mount" the frame to my custom stand that I want to build. I'd like the stand to be completely adjustable (no preset angles), but I'm having difficulty deciding how to do that.

I'm thinking the stand would be an L shape and the corner of the L would be the pivot point. Any ideas to get me started? And specifically how to do the pivot point so it can be fully adjustable and lock into place? I can worry about making it look nice later.

Thanks,
Kevin
