I don't have the 1700 Freud but I have a 2200 in the router table and it works very well ,with the vac.tube is in place,I like to use it in the router table if I want the chips to go down the router bit hole when the pin router device is in place or doing dado's..

|bigadam||Thanks, it just appears that the dust chute would not let the router go all the way up to my plate but I'll give it a shot. Does this dust chute work well for you or do I need to put a cabinet around the router table?|

I have the 1700vec mounter in the table with the dust chute attached it works just fine.
After I have my second cup of coffee I'll go to the shop and see if I can suss out cause of your problem.

Freud FT1700 table mounted router - dust collection
Does anyone out there have an FT1700VCEK mounted in a table? If so, did you use the included plastic dust collection shroud? It appears that this shroud limits the upward movement of the router. If I install it, will I still be able to change bits from above the table? Thanks in advance for your input.
