DesertRatTom @RainMan 2.0 Hope you're busy assembling and learning CNC. I think that's your best bet for the future. Being sick of working for others is a common thing among the self employed. Keep this feeling in mind when you want to goof off instead of developing your business. You cannot make up that lost time and energy. A few steps EVERY day. Intense effort now shortens the startup grind. Don't know about Canadian taxes, but here you write off lots of expenses for business. All that gear you bought is deducible if you are in business. In U.S., you don't have to make a profit for several years (eg. Amazon).

I always thought work was something you didn't much like to do. And when you're doing something you love, that others think or work, you are actually engaged in recreation. I've been playing for a long time now.

David Bradford I am glad I don't deal with the public as part of my job. Listening to my wife and kids after a day in retail I wouldn't last 10 minutes in retail.
