Mark Lol yeah this has always been a challenge, I changed the homepage from a simply register button to a picture of a router with saw dust and wood. I suppose the next step is what Paul suggested, a quiz to see if they are the woodworking type Haha

C'mon Paul.

Don't spoil our fun.......LOL

This is an open and free forum (may she last forever), I don't think we need a test to enter.

All my comments to this thread are in jest, I hope no one take offence. We have all done weird and wonderful things in our short lives....

I wonder how many woodworkers go to an IT site for help with their Porter Cable router......

I note, however, that rarely do they come back and admit their error....LOL

What a great idea, James. Everyone should go to at least one IT site and post a question about their favorite router and which are the best bits to use, and then report back.

Well, I've worked in IT now for the past 29 years. I'm a network engineer, so I worked with routers (the other kind) and switches every day. So far in the past 29 years, no one has asked me about routing wood on my job yet. I have had my share of bone-head computer-related questions though.

newwoodworker Yeah I can understand the frustration but I have got to admit before I got into wood working I had no idea there was such a thing as a "router" that wasn't related to internet related things lol but I agree its just laziness on their part they must just type in router and ignore every single thing just mindlessly clicking till they can get to somewhere they can type their problem then close the page because if they didnt close the page but decided to actually read something on here I would assume they would feel foolish and delete the original post.

Geeze, George. I hadn't thought of that.
This is the wrong time of the year to get all het up about such things.

So... Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas (or insert your holiday of choice), and a happy and prosperous new year!
