mr500 Well went down to big blue Lowes and pulled the trigger on this DP. Also went to post office and grabbed me up a 10% off card. So far all is good. Seems like a decent strong DP. Went together very easy. So far Im a happy camper!!

mr500 Yeah it has the dapth gauge. Its a full 4 inches as well. Which is another reason I like it. Plus the laser guide 16 speed, 1 hp etc..etc..

yeah Ill be making a table mod first thing!!!!!!

The handle pic was its good side lmao

rwl7532 I like the rectangular table my Jet has.
For wood, most of the pieces to be drilled are rectangles.
Better for clamping.

For that matter, every drill press needs a bigger table.

From that Lowe's picture, I can't tell if it has the depth gauge.
The pictures on craigslist are no better -- there could be a depth gauge but the pic is at the wrong angle.
You expect a drill press has handles; why take a picture with that as the featured item?

mr500 yeah Nothing in the Pawn shops so far. But I did buy a Rigid planer and a 12" dewalt compound miter (705) and got huge deals..

I am goin in the AM to sink my teeth into that PC DP. See what happens with it

Thanks again guys
I have done pretty good with power tools from pawn shops. One of my routers, the scroll saw and a 1/2" chucked hand drill come to mind. I popped 180 for the better of the two Ryobi Drill presses at my local Orange Box. I don't have huge regrets over it now, but would have ended up with more machine for less money had I thought of trying Craig's List out at the time.

Good luck on your quest for a press, those things are darn handy to have around!

papawd I picked up the Ridgid at Home Depot 2 years or so ago for $249. and have no regrets at that time it felt more solid than the Porter Cable

mgmine 1hp is more than enough. Before you buy it though check out Craigs list. You might find a better one for a lot less.

Red Stick I got one to replace an old bench top. It is not as nice as the much more expensive ones but is a huge improvement for me. I don't regret buying it.
