Must be in the name Tom. I once had a sheet of peg board on the roof rack and once I started off it flew off the car when I hit about 50KM/Hr. Thought I had strapped it on good . Obviously not! |
Lucky no one was close behind me.

Okay, okay. It was loose, but not after we restacked it. |
We're flat and level around these parts and I was moving slow. It was constrained by posts on the sides, and I thought that would be enough. It was a small pothole on a recently repaired street,
Beside that, if I'd tied it down, all those nice folks wouldn't have had the opportunity to do something nice for an old guy. Rithe?
At any rate, the stage is installed and everyone involved likes it. Black paint in the truck for tomorrow's chore. Gotta pick up material for the flats. I'll tie it down, I promise.

I have seen that many times ,especially at stop lights on a hill. When the light turns and the vehicle starts up the hill whoops out goes the plywood,if the tailgate is open and the plywood is not tied down. I saw a whole sling slide out once. |
Also off the top of cars, and pick-ups with plywood leaning up over the cab,not tied down. Mattresses too, saw one fly out of a pick-up just the other day going down the freeway it was stacked in the bed tilted up on top of the tailgate,on top of the box spring. It flew out hit a car behind at 60+mph and then into the median strip.
We have a law here the loads have to be tied down and they cite people whose loose loads, it was enacted after that woman lost her face when a particle board cabinet came out of an open pickup she was behind and went thru her windshield.
