sunnybob I'm not too bothered about the small amount of air leakage around the fence ducting. The table is flat, the tunnel is fairly flat, and I think a small amount of air movement would be good to stop the swirling effect you get when air flow is from the middle of a tunnel.
The leakage just ensures all air movement is towards the hole.

DesertRatTom Nicely done Bob. I also like the extraction hose going directly through the table. Much more compact. I'm redoing my router setup and think I'll use your idea.

Ratbob Pretty cool idea Bob! How do you keep the air from leaking between the tunnel and the table top? I'd think that leakage would limit the suction near the bit.

JFPNCM Thanks for the photos Bob, very helpful. Makes more sense than hanging a hose off the back of the fence and the port cover should add some stability as well.

sunnybob Vince, I managed to protect the table's lower modesty. A job not as easy as it sounds.

sunnybob Right, here goes trtying for pictures.
First one is just the table top with the hole in it which feeds into the router box that has a extraction fitted.

second is the fence all the way back

third is all the way forwards, not that you would ever need this much adjustment, it just illustrates how clear the table top is with no hoses.
