Default Zyliss/Z-vice/Profi-King vice

This is probably one of the most versatile of vices. It appears that Zyliss keeps getting bought out and moved from company to company. This is the third name change for the Zyliss products. They also make useful and well made kitchen implements. I especially like their cutter for french fried potatoes. Their garlic press is also excellent as is their salad spinner. Elegant and simple products that meet a need perfectly.

This vice comes in several versions:

The original Zyliss vice came with the clamps, soft jaws and the rounding centres. Updated versions have more options.

As at April, 2011,

Advanced Machinery

was still showing the Z-vice2 system which is one of the new names for the Zyliss. They're still using some of the original Zyliss molds. The vice is known as the Zyliss, z-Vice, z-Vice2, Profi-King and perhaps more.

Having used a pair of Zyliss vices on my Ukulele building course, I found a good one on ebay and am now the proud owner. Z-vise clamping system | eBay
Now for a Parrot vice.

I noticed this at the recent Working With Wood Show in Sydney.

One booth was selling what they claimed to be the original and another booth selling a clone claimed theirs was better.....

I know this is a bit of a blast from the past but I spotted the mention of this and remembered that I have recently seen a Zyliss vice with Bosch markings on its castings. I assume that means that at some point in its history Bosch owned them as well.

I don't know how old it was.
